A US-based missionary that does communications consulting? That may not sound familiar to you! Many assume that all missionaries live outside their home countries doing some form of church planting. The reality of missions is more complex.
The word missionary simply means “sent one.” In one sense, every follower of Jesus is a missionary. However, people that use the title “missionary” do many jobs in many places – not only church planting overseas – that all contribute to growing the global kingdom of God.
Consider this definition that may be new to you. Missionaries are people resourced directly by the Church and its people to serve God’s Kingdom with their unique skills and abilities.
