Check Out the October 2023 EMQ

This is such a packed issue on healthcare in missions. Mike Soderling of Health for All Nations and Daniel O’Neill of the Christian Journal for Global Health partnered with me to determine topics and recruit writers. Our collaboration resulted in a rich collection of articles which cover topics from medical missions history to today’s challenges to mental health and even to veterinary care in missions.

I particularly enjoyed Anil Cherin’s article, The Transformational Potential of Missional Healthcare.  In it, he tells the story of how he and his wife, Shalani, moved from India to Uganda and then Sudan to serve as medical missionaries. Their work, in partnership with the people of South Sudan, is building capacity for medical care in South Sudan.

This quarter’s non-themed contributions, in the “Extras” section, were all about church planting movements. This one by Ron and Carolyn Krauss delves into how to make movements for Christ long-lasting.

If you do not have a subscription, you can still read a few articles in the issue that are freely available:

To see all the content, purchase a 1-year digital subscription for $26.95 or buy a print copy from Amazon for $14. This issue is a little larger than normal. So we went with a thinner paper to keep costs down. It’s still a beautiful issue.
