The 2023 Missio Nexus Mission Leaders Conference was from September 27-29 in Orlando, Florida. Thankfully, there wasn’t a hurricane during it like we encountered last year! The theme was “Shift – Rapid Social Transformation and the Gospel.”
The October 2023 issue of EMQ looks at the intersection of healthcare and missions. From hospitals to clinics to primary care, healthcare continues to open opportunities for the gospel to be shared.

The 2023 MLC, being held in Orlando from September 27-29, 2023, will offer a number of options for marketing and communications staff working for missions agencies including a Public Relations Bootcamp, and several workshops. This is something I’ve been working towards for a while, and I was involved in recruiting most of the marketing and communications workshop presenters.

With COVID restrictions lifting almost everywhere, in-person conferences have returned in force! I attended 5 this fall: Missio Nexus’s Mission Leaders Conference, the Evangelical Missiological Society Annual Conference (this was a hybrid event, so I attended online), Finishing the Task, the International Partnering Associates Summit, and the ICETE Global Consultation.
Gen Z is the first digital native generation and one that welcomes multicultural friendships. At the same time, in Western countries more and more young people are leaving the church. What does this mean as we engage young people with the gospel and mission? That’s what this edition of EMQ is all about!
