Check Out the July 2023 EMQ

In October 2022 Andrew Feng and I both attended the Finishing the Task conference in southern California. Andrew is the US director of Indigitous – a network of technologists serving missions. We’d met on Zoom, but the FTT event was our first time to meet in person.

Andrew is full of ideas and is also a super-powered connector! So, it didn’t take long for Andrew to pitch doing a technology themed EMQ to me. I wasn’t sold immediately, but Andrew had great ideas for content and contributors. I decided to go with it, and I’m grateful for his persuasion! We received a great collection of articles for the July 2023 issue of EMQ that cover all kinds of ways that technology is used in missions.

One of the most fascinating articles (“Meeting God in the Metaverse“) discusses the digital mission field as well as digital churches, digital evangelism, and digital discipleship. It blew my mind!

We had some great non-themed contributions in the “Extras” section as well. Open Doors (an organization that supports the persecuted church) made a submission about the surprising ways that the Church can unknowingly participate in increasing the pain of persecution.

If you do not have a subscription, you can still check out a few articles in the issue that are freely available:

To see all the content, purchase a 1-year digital subscription for $26.95 or buy a print copy from Amazon for $14. The print copies are beautiful – printed at the quality of a soft cover book.
